Cangzhou, a city in Hebei province, has become the first team to reach the Chinese Super League (CSL) relegation play-offs after finishing bottom of the table last season.
The club, known for its strong fanbase and passionate support, was one of the most successful teams in China's second-tier league before slipping down the rankings.
Despite their poor performance in the previous campaign, Cangzhou fans remained hopeful that they could turn things around this time around.
The team made it to the play-offs thanks to their impressive form during the regular season, which saw them win seven matches out of 16 games played.
The relegation play-offs will see the team face off against two other clubs from the same division - Shanghai Shenhua and Beijing Guoan.
The winner of the play-off match will be promoted to the top tier of Chinese football while the loser will be relegated back to the second tier.
For Cangzhou, the challenge ahead is not just about securing their place in the top flight but also about proving to their supporters that they can compete at the highest level.
With the support of their fans, Cangzhou can certainly make a strong showing in the relegation play-offs and give themselves a chance to return to the top tier of Chinese football.
