Newcastle United has made history by signing Almiron from Colombian club Nacional, with the forward scoring seven goals in his debut season.

The Uruguayan international arrived at St James' Park on a £12 million transfer fee, and he wasted no time making an impact in his first appearance for the Magpies.

Almiron scored two goals in just over half an hour as Newcastle defeated Reading 5-1 in their opening game of the season, and his performance earned him a place in the PFA Young Player of the Month award.

His goal-scoring prowess continued in the following matches, with Almiron netting three more times in four games to help Newcastle maintain their unbeaten start to the campaign.

However, it was not all smooth sailing for Almiron at Newcastle. He struggled to find his feet in English football, and his form dipped towards the end of the season.

Despite this, Newcastle manager Steve Bruce praised Almiron's contribution to the team, saying: "He's been outstanding since he came here."

Almiron's performances have been a source of encouragement for Newcastle fans, who were left disappointed when they missed out on a top-four finish last season.

With Almiron continuing to score goals for the Magpies, it is hoped that he will continue to contribute to their success in the coming seasons.
